JOB POSTING GUIDELINES

JobsOnline is an on-line platform managed by Saint Paul College Career Services to provide an opportunity for employers to share employment, internship and volunteer opportunities with Saint Paul College students and alumni. Employers post on JobsOnline using a professional email address, phone number and business website that would be typically associated with a legal entity.

Employers understand that:

  • Accounts may be rejected if there is not sufficient evidence provided in the profile to verify that the organization is an established and legitimate company. Jobs for personal services in private residences are not allowed.
  • Network marketing, pyramid selling, referral marketing, or multi-level marketing employers or positions will not be approved
  • Employers are responsible to maintain the confidentiality of student/alumni information, regardless of the source, including the job board database JobsOnline
  • They are responsible for compliance with EEO and Affirmative Action principles in recruiting activities
  • They are expected to comply with National Association of Colleges and Employers Principles for Ethical Professional Practice (NACEweb.org/principles/#employment)
  • Saint Paul College reserves the right to decline requests that are deemed inappropriate or predatory

Posting Positions
Employers create an account which must be approved by Career Services before jobs may to be posted. For best results to verify company and position information and for students/alumni to search your company and positions, complete all information fields in addition to required information fields. The posting will remain active for the stated timeframe employers have set (normally not more than 60 days). Once a posting expires, it is the responsibility of the employer to repost it. We reserve the right to decline individual postings.

The posting will not be approved if:

  • The employment opportunity resides in a private residence or the main contact information in the posting relates to a personal email, phone and/or address. If the position is paid by an agency, the agency may post as long as they comply with the other posting guidelines.
  • The employment opportunity involves on-campus solicitation or on-campus sales
  • The job seeker is required to purchase, rent, or obtain a line of credit for any type of sales kit or presentation supplies, or to pay for training, classes or products such as insurance, as a condition of employment
  • The job seeker is required to obtain a personal or corporate line of credit
  • The employment or internship opportunity is contingent upon the job seeker paying a fee for employment or placement services
  • Non-salaried, commission-only postings will be evaluated on a case by case basis
  • The employment or internship opportunity does not include paid training
  • The posting is for advertisements for competitions or contests
  • The opportunity is for a company that does not follow the U.S. Department of Labor’s guidelines
  • The posting is for promotions not related directly to hiring for employment

Posting Internships:  Saint Paul College will post internship opportunities that hold the following:

Third party recruiters are welcomed to post positions for which they are actively recruiting on behalf of their clients.

  • Positions may be full-time, part-time, temporary or temp-to-hire and the status must be stated
  • Submissions in which the third-party recruiter only promotes their services with the intent of creating a pipeline for future candidates might not be approved
  • The agency must state they are recruiting for a third-party agency
  • The third-party agency must state that it will not charge any fees to students or alumni in the job posting
  • The agency must not disclose the job seeker’s information to other employers/organizations without obtaining prior written consent from the job seeker
  • The agency agrees to provide to Saint Paul College’s Career Services staff, if requested, the contact information for the organization for which the third party is providing recruiting services

Saint Paul College does not claim any responsibility or obligation to assess or determine the suitability of any individual seeking employment, any potential employer, or any potential employment situation. ON CAMPUS RECRUITING

Information/Recruiting Tables in a high traffic area on campus during Fall and Spring semesters.  Start by reviewing our Tabling Policy. Please note that not all job opportunities are appropriate for tabling. A staff member will work with you to determine the best strategies for recruiting.

TABLING POLICY

Information tables at Saint Paul College is a benefit offered to local employers who are seeking to hire Saint Paul College students. Table booking is coordinated by the Career Services Department and must be submitted a minimum of five (5) business days in advance.

  • Tables are to be used for promoting jobs/internships that comply with the college’s Guidelines for Posting & Recruiting
  • Tables are located in the 1200 Hallway leading to the City View Cafeteria. One (1) table and two (2) chairs are provided between 11:00am to 1:00pm unless arranged otherwise
  • To maximize opportunities for different groups, we reserve the right to limit the number of tabling events per employer.
  • Users will receive a confirmation e-mail when their booking is scheduled. If you do not receive a confirmation email, contact Career Services (651.846.1384 / Career.Services@saintpaul.edu)

Conditions / Requirements

  • Failure to show up for your booking penalizes other groups who could have used these limited spaces. If you need to cancel your booking, please do so by notifying Career Services as soon as possible
  • Classroom visits and meetings with instructors must be coordinated in advance between the recruiter and instructor. Please be respectful of their time by refraining from unannounced visits to classrooms.
  • Users must use the table assigned at the time of their booking. Assignments are posted at each table.
  • The table must be attended at all times during your booking time(s)
  • No amplified sound is allowed, regardless of volume, including speakers, megaphones, bullhorns, and audio/visual sound
  • No selling of products (i.e. books, credit cards/banking, gym memberships, etc.)
  • Distribution of items such as individually wrapped candies, snacks and “swag” such as pens without sale is permitted. Vending or distribution of food and drinks, such as home-baked goods, is not allowed.
  • No displays, materials, or activities may interfere with pedestrian passage or the normal activities of the College
  • Users are responsible for removing all materials from their table at the conclusion of their booking
  • Users may not move tables from their designated areas of set up
  • Distribution of flyers around campus such as on tables, bulletin boards, walls or cars is not allowed. If you wish to post a flyer, please drop it off at the Career Services office (Room 1320)

Violation of any of these conditions may result in authorization for promotional tables being immediately withdrawn. A verbal warning will be issued after the first violation. A written warning will be issued after the second violation. After a third violation an organization’s table booking privileges will be revoked for one (1) semester. Further violations will result in revocation of table booking privileges for an extended period (e.g. remainder of academic year, indefinitely, etc.)
