Saint Paul College President Deidra Peaslee and Associate Vice President Kay Francis Garland recently represented SPC at the 2024 Convening on Advancing Economic Mobility at Community Colleges. This prestigious, invite-only event, hosted by The Project on Workforce at Harvard, Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), and the Education Design Lab, brought together community college leaders nationwide to tackle the challenges of driving economic growth and creating opportunities for students.
Building on the research and findings in America’s Hidden Economic Engines, the event facilitated deep learning and connections among community college leaders. It provided an opportunity to share best practices and develop joint solutions to pressing workforce challenges.
President Peaslee and AVP Garland shared their expertise by leading a workshop focused on Saint Paul College’s innovative approach to student support. They highlighted the college’s commitment to providing personalized guidance and creating a supportive environment where all students feel empowered to achieve their goals.
