Horsepower. Torque. The powerful sound of diesel engines. If these things connect with you, you're probably a mechanic at heart – and we've got the right program for you!
Our
Truck Technician program covers traditional mechanical systems, as well as
high-tech and computer-controlled systems, and will prepare you for a lifelong
career in the industry.
The
Truck Technician Diploma program at Saint Paul College provides hands-on
training and teaches you the theoretical skills needed to succeed in today’s
fast-paced trucking industry.
From day one, you'll use hand tools such as wrenches, sockets and impacts to disassemble, inspect and overhaul truck components. As you move on with your training, you will use advanced diagnostic tools, measurement devices, and computers in our state-of-the-art truck shop. Did
you know that a modern truck can have up to 15 computers on board and
communicates via satellite and cellular networks?
To become a well-rounded truck technician, you'll need a solid foundation through classroom instruction. You will learn about pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems to help you become an effective truck technician.
