Over the last several months, we have heard about acts of Anti-Asian violence occurring across our nation, including this week’s Atlanta shootings. Saint Paul College is committed to the safety of all members of our community.
As we move forward with becoming an anti-racist and trauma-informed institution, we acknowledge the experiences of our Asian-American and Pacific Islander community members and commit to removing all forms of anti-Asian sentiment from our College.
While we engage in creating and maintaining a safe and inclusive Saint Paul College community, it is important that we continue to take care of ourselves and each other. This includes allowing ourselves the time and space to feel, grieve, process and reflect.
We all have a responsibility to maintain a safe campus community; this includes addressing anti-Asian sentiment. The Hollaback! Organization has partnered with Asian Americans Advancing Justice to provide free bystander intervention workshops to address and prevent anti-Asian/American harassment. The workshops include:
- Bystander Intervention to Stop Anti-Asian/American Harassment and Xenophobia
- Bystander Intervention 2.0: Conflict De-escalation Training
- How to Respond to Harassment for People Experiencing anti-Asian/American Harassment
