Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Saint Paul College International Student Program continues to grow! We now have 60 international students representing 32 different countries and five different continents enrolled at our school. This program started with 26 students in Fall 2019, then grew to 49 students in Fall 2020, and now has 60 students in Spring 2021. These 60 students enroll in 24 various programs, with our AA Degree, Health Science AS, Business Pathway, and Engineering AS the most popular programs. The combined GPA for these sixty international students is an impressive 3.4!
Saint Paul College's international student growth can be attributed to many factors, including a warm, welcoming environment where students feel at home while pursuing their educational pursuits. For example, international student leaders started the Global Cultures Club in Fall 2019. This club has expanded to include many domestic students and continues to be active virtually throughout the 2020-2021 academic year.
As we advance, The International Program has secured space for two fully-funded Russian students through the Eurasia Foundation's Year in Exchange in America for Russians program. Due to Covid-19, the two students could not start in Fall 2020, but they are taking online classes for Spring 2021. This program will also send two Russian students to Saint Paul College for the 2021-2022 school year.
