Governor Tim Walz visited Saint Paul College on October 23rd, marking the beginning of his statewide tour. He took this opportunity to spotlight proposed infrastructure projects ahead of the 2024 legislative session.
The top infrastructure project for the Minnesota State System is Saint Paul College's Academic Excellence Renovation Design, which holds immense potential to revolutionize Saint Paul College. With a vision to transform the campus, this project is not just about architectural innovation but also about reshaping academic environments to foster better learning, engagement, and student success. The project will strengthen our bonds with the community, positioning us as partners in progress and advocates for inclusive growth in the City of Saint Paul.
This project is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the college to strategically align the educational environments and support services our students need to succeed in partnership with the tradespeople we train everyday.
Accompanied by Minnesota Building and Construction Trades Council president Dan McConnell, Governor Walz shared insights into the wide array of initiatives that are set to redefine Minnesota's infrastructure landscape. President Dee Dee Peaslee and student leaders, including Student Senate President Rejoice Udochukwu, also participated in the tour. Their presence not only underscored the relevance of these infrastructure projects to students but also provided an opportunity for direct dialogue between the future beneficiaries of these projects and policymakers.
