Friends of Saint Paul College receives a grant of $10K from Regenerative Medicine Minnesota for Scrubs Camp 2015
Friends of Saint Paul College was awarded a grant of $10,000 for Scrubs Camp 2015, a program that offers career exploration in health care.

Saint Paul, MN (May 10, 2015) – Friends of Saint Paul College is pleased to announce that it has received a grant of $10,000 from Regenerative Medicine Minnesota (http://www.regenmedmn.org) for Saint Paul College’s Scrubs Camp 2015, a collaboration with HealthForce Minnesota (http://www.healthforceminnesota.org)

"Scrubs Camp (http://www.healthforceminnesota.org/scrubs-camp) is a unique opportunity for high school students to explore to explore health care occupations, including those related to regenerative medicine disciplines, such as the medical device innovation workshop we have planned this year," said a Workforce Development Representative. Students rotate through activities such as blood typing, birthing simulations and moulage where they engage in hands-on learning. They also tour a helicopter ambulance, help "deliver" a baby in a mobile healthcare simulation laboratory and take field trips to HealthEast Medical Transportation and Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare.

The investment from Regenerative Medicine Min​nesota will make it possible to provide financial assistance and transportation for more than 20 low-income students thereby removing potential barriers to participation.

"Scrubs Camp is a component of our college readiness strategy which helps high school students to better prepare for health care careers," said President Rassoul Dastmozd.
