Saint Paul College A Community & Technical College

Friends of Saint Paul College receives a grant of $7,346 from Mount Sinai Community Foundation for newborn simulation equipment

Saint Paul, MN (May 1, 2015) – Friends of Saint Paul College is pleased to announce that it has received a grant of $7,347 from the Mount Sinai Community Foundation to purchase Newborn Simulation Equipment for Saint Paul College’s Simulation Laboratory (SimLab).

“We are thrilled about this opportunity to contribute the SimNewB Simulator Manikin with associated equipment to the Saint Paul College’s SimLab,” said Executive Director Laura Savin. The SimLab serves students who are pursuing credentials and certificates in Respiratory Therapy, Practical Nursing and Medical Office. Employers partner with the College to offer employee training using the SimLab technologies.

The investment from the Mount Sinai Community Foundation will make it possible to provide more comprehensive pediatric workforce training for over 210 students, advancing medical care for Minnesotans.

In an emergency situation, learners don’t have the opportunity to “practice” their skills. “The Newborn Simulation equipment helps students prepare for rare emergencies in a safe environment,” said President Rassoul Dastmozd.
