Kris D’Meier is a Sociology instructor at Saint Paul College. Originally from Minneapolis, Kristinea recently returned from New York where she taught sociology and criminal justice courses at Utica College and Herkimer County Community College. Receiving her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and her Master’s Degree in Sociology: Corrections from Minnesota State University at Mankato, Kristinea’s primary focus of study has been in the field of Penology and Corrections Reformation. Over the last fifteen years, her field work has included conducting victim/offender mediations, grassroots work in community corrections (particularly in the area of restorative/transformative justice), as well as working in various capacities with offenders in both the prison and jail systems. In each of these areas, her focus has been on community and relationship building. Kristinea lives with her family in Saint Paul, and in her free time, enjoys reading, hiking, and camping.
