What is the Testing Center?
The Testing Center at Saint Paul College provides a professional and welcoming environment for students to take tests. The Testing Center offers a range of proctoring services, including:
- Make-up Testing for Saint Paul College Courses
- Testing with Accommodations
- ACCUPLACER Exams
- Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)
- Credential/Licensure Testing for Saint Paul College Programs
Questions about Testing Center Services
In order to maintain a positive, respectful, secure testing environment, the following policies apply to everyone who uses the Testing Center:
- Valid Photo IDs are required for every person checking in (ID on phone unacceptable)
- Cell phones must be turned off and put away
- No food or beverages are allowed
- Children are not permitted in the testing room
- The room must remain quiet at all times
- Free headphones and ear plugs are available for use
- All materials disallowed by the test directions must be left at the front of, or outside, the testing room
- Cheating is prohibited. If you are caught cheating, your test will be confiscated, you will be asked to leave the testing room, and your instructor will be notified
- Tests and test-related materials may not leave the testing room (including scratch paper)
Thank you for helping to create a positive testing space!
Students must:
- Abide by the Testing Center guidelines, listed above.
- Valid Photo IDs are required and will not be accepted on your phone.
- Must arrive at least 90 minutes before closing or they will NOT be admitted.
- Should be in touch with their instructors on testing deadlines and restrictions.
- All make-up tests must be completed in a single sitting before the Testing Center closes.
Saint Paul College offers proctoring service for make-up exams.
To successfully proctor a make-up exam, faculty must:
- Submit the Proctoring Request Form to the Testing Center at least 24 hours before a student arrives to test.
- Students should be in touch with their instructors on testing deadlines and restrictions.
- All make-up tests must be completed in a single sitting before the Testing Center closes.
We are currently offering ACCUPLACER tests in math only. Please see the Placement/Assessment page for the current placement and assessment process.
Students who take the ACCUPLACER math test will begin with the Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra, and Statistics test (QAS). Students will then be routed to either the Arithmetic test or the Advanced Algebra and Functions test based on the QAS results.
If a student would like to re-take the ACCUPLACER, the College suggests 5 days between assessments, to allow time to practice or brush up. There are resources available for practice assessments on our ACCUPLACER site.
TEAS is only available at Saint Paul College for Saint Paul College students and prospective students who have applied to a Saint Paul College program that requires the TEAS. Additional information is available on the Saint Paul College TEAS site. Students must create an ATI account at www.atitesting.com to purchase and schedule an exam.
The Testing Center offers licensure and credential testing for some Saint Paul College programs. Saint Paul College instructors who are interested in sponsoring a credential or licensure exam through the Testing Center should contact the Testing Center with information on the proposed exam.
Saint Paul College no longer offers proctoring services for Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.
