Career Services offers an array of services and resources to assist faculty and staff as they support students preparing for employment. We offer free services to current students and alumni of Saint Paul College.
Focus 2 Career is a self-guided career and education planning platform designed to help students make decisions about future career goals and education plans. They can take assessments and explore options that align with their interests, skills, personality and values.
- You can use Focus 2 Career for class assignments or embed in your course curriculum. Contact Sheryl.Saul@saintpaul.edu to request administrative access
- Current Students may create an account at Focus 2 Career using SAINTPAUL as their access code
- Students who have created an account in Focus 2 Apply should log in and click the “transition” button in the top menu bar to see the expanded options in Focus 2 Career.
- Although not required, Career Services staff are available to assist students with interpretation and creating an action plan (appointment requested)
JobsOnline job board offers 500+ active job postings as well as Saint Paul College-specific handouts and links to recorded webinars
The Career Services optional free course in D2L contains handouts, example resumes, links to recorded webinars and external resources that you can embed in your online course or use in your classroom. If it doesn’t show in your course list, contact Sheryl.Saul@saintpaul.edu
Get Hired Fast contains on-demand videos that coach the job seeker through the entire job search process. Our license allows the use of video clips, articles and worksheets for use in your D2L courses, slide decks, in classrooms, etc. Links to Get Hired Fast videos are also included in the Career Services D2L course, organized by topic.
A career advisor is available to meet one-on-one with students and alumni. Appointments are strongly encouraged. Students can schedule an appointment through their Navigate account or use the link on the Career Services D2L course. They may also stop by (Room 1326) or call (651.846.1384).
Assistance is available for:
- Preparation for job and career fairs
- Career exploration, career assessments, and choosing appropriate programs or majors
- Utilizing JobsOnline and other resources to find jobs/internships
- Resume and cover letter critique
- Job interview tips and practice
Career Services can provide presentations or workshops to your class or student association. We cover a wide variety of topics that can be customized to meet your unique needs. We also welcome the chance to visit your classroom to introduce Career Services to students and to promote upcoming events such as career fairs and networking opportunities.
