Two faculty members from Saint Paul College, Garrett Byrne (CNC Toolmaking) and Amy Gonyea (Biology), were recently honored with the 2024 Outstanding Educator Awards by the Minnesota State Board of Trustees. This prestigious award recognizes exceptional educators who demonstrate superior achievement in teaching and service.

In her classes, Gonyea fosters a sense of belonging for her students through innovative teaching assignments and assessment strategies and by investing in open educational resources that reduce student costs.
Garrett Byrne
As a teacher, Byrne combines lectures and labs, helping students maximize their learning with machines, and as department chair, he leads changes to improve the program and stay current with industry trends.
