Our online job posting system (CAPS) offers a wealth of resources for your job search including:

To Create an online job (CAPS) account

  1. G​o to
  2. Click on the "Alumni" icon
  3. Click on "Create Account"
  4. Create an access ID and password and click "Continue Registration"
  5. Fill out the form and click "Submit Information"

Various sites can help you search for information on career planning, occupations, schools offering training and education, job outlook, employment trends, non-traditional careers, salary information and much more. Here are just a few online resources:

Minnesota Works
The MinnesotaWorks site is an internet-based self-service system where employers and job seekers can find each other. Registration is encouraged because it allows full access to all the features of the system. This site is supported by Employer tax dollars and there is no additional fee to use this service.

ISEEK is a fantastic resource to help in researching careers. You can find specific Minnesota employment outlook, salary figures and available positions on I-seek. You can also take interest assessments on I-seek to determine your interests and how they relate to different careers.

Minnesota Career Information System
The Minnesota Career Information System Web site provides career exploration information, education information and interest assessments. The “My Career Plan” feature on MCIS helps you learn more about yourself, research and evaluate your options, set and update goals, and make plans to assure your success.

Occupational Outlook Handbook
The Occupational Outlook Handbook gives information on hundreds of different types of jobs, and provides information on the training and education needed, earnings, expected job prospects, what workers do on the job, and working conditions. The Handbook is on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Web site, which also provides job search tips and links to information about the job market in each State.

MnITCareers posts ”Weekly Hot Jobs” for Information Technology job openings. You can also sign up for their "Weekly Jobs Newsletter" to be sent directly to you, with jobs available on MnWorks and a bonus section of jobs sent directly to AdvanceIT MN from employers.

Apprenticeship Training
The Construction Careers Web site is a great resource that explains about apprenticeship programs and how to become involved in an apprenticeship in the trades.

Find out some great information on construction careers - just select the "For the Student" hard hat on the Construct My Future Web site and begin your exploration.
