Dan Paulnock began as a part-time Speech Instructor at Saint Paul College in 1999 and has had full-time status in the Speech and Theatre Department since 2002. He currently serves as the Chair of Communication, English, Speech, and Theatre. Dan teaches a number of courses including Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, Mass Media, and Family Communication in traditional and on-line classrooms. He has developed a number of new courses for the College and provides leadership for co-curricular activities including the E-Folio Fest, Liberal Arts and Sciences E-folio Presentations, and Student Success Seminars.
Dan received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Communications Studies from Emerson College, in Boston and worked as a News Reporter and Radio Talk-Show Host in Boston and New York City. During this time, Dan was also the Head of the Speech and Drama Departments and the Instructional Media Center for a suburban Boston Public School System. He later worked for several Fortune 100 Companies in a variety of marketing positions of increasing responsibility. Dan relocated to the Twin Cities to take a position as the Director of World-wide Marketing for an Audio, Video and Computer Presentation Products Firm, and then as the General Manager of an international meeting services company, blending his practical lessons from his business career with a knowledge of human communications, to provide support and consulting for major organizations and corporations.
In addition to serving the College, Dan has been asked to provide presentations on the E-folio and other professional development training for the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system.
